The problem isn't the phone. It's the argument that never ends.
The same negotiation every night
"Just five more minutes", then five more, and nobody remembers when it started.
Homework can wait
Play comes first, and chores slide until voices rise.
You're always the referee
Every "no" feels unfair to your child, and every "yes" feels like giving in to you.
Three steps, and everyone knows the rule.
Add chores
Make the bed, finish homework, help around the house. You decide what each one is worth.
They do it, you approve
Your child marks it done and you get a notification. No points until you approve.
Points become playtime
Your child spends points on minutes in the apps you chose, and time only counts while they use them.
What parents see, and what kids see.
- Write chores and set what each is worth in points.
- Approve finished chores with one tap.
- Choose which apps wait for earned time; everything else stays open.
- Set the price of a minute, or a price for each app.
- Send the pairing code to your child's phone, and approve the phone before it links.
- Price your child's wishes in points, or simply gift them.
- See today's chores and what each one is worth.
- Collect points and watch the balance grow.
- Buy their own minutes from the Store, no asking, no waiting.
- Add wishes and save up for them.
- Keep a daily streak going and earn bonus points.
What changes at home?
A calmer home
The rule is agreed in advance, so nobody needs to raise their voice.
Real responsibility
Your child learns that time is the result of their effort, not a favour to ask for.
Saving and planning
The wishlist teaches them to collect and wait for what they want.
Daily habits
Streaks reward showing up day after day.
Fair between siblings
Each child has their own chores and points, and one rule for all.
Parents together
Add a second parent to approve and follow along from their phone.

What is Kite?
Kite is an Android family app that makes screen time something kids earn: parents set chores and their points, the child completes them, the parent approves, and the child spends points on minutes in the apps the parent chose.
Is Kite free?
Yes. The free plan is permanent and covers one child with chores, points, buying time and the wishlist. Family ($2.99/month) and Premium ($4.49/month) add more children, a second parent, reports, schedules and Focus Mode.
Which devices does it work on?
Android phones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later, from Google Play. There is no iPhone version yet.
Do I need two phones?
Yes: Kite is installed on your phone and on your child's phone, then you pair them with a 6-digit code or a QR scan. You can send the install link and the code to your child's phone in one message, and approve the phone from yours before it links.
Can I set a different price for each app?
Yes. In the per-app store you set a price in points for each app, so your child buys time for the app they want; an app without a price stays blocked. On the Family plan you can price a whole category, like games, in one tap.
What happens if my child deletes Kite?
You get an alert and can re-link the phone in one tap from that alert. Points and tasks are kept.
A small team, building Kite with care.
We are the Kite team. We believe the best answer to screen time isn't banning it, but a clear deal your child understands and respects. We keep building and improving the app, and we read every message parents send us.
